IPL! A DREAM COME TRUE

IPL is thriving more that ever before, feels its commissioner Lalit Modi and yes it thriving like never before. Indian Premier League has been listed as one of the top 7 richest domestic leagues, in the like of English Premier League and NBA some even list it as the second richest league in the world after NBA and not very surprisingly there are a whole lot of people shouting against it, though their voice is unheard when it is compared to the attention IPL is getting actually it no comparison but I still love to write a blog explaining why Indian's should be proud of the this League, some sincerely condemn it thinking it would destroy the game and some are blindly criticizing it just to get some cheap publicity "opposites attract" remember?, I heard a debate in which the guy seems to know nothing about Cricket but he some how feels it would kill cricket and it is anti sports..lol.

Many still believe that IPL is the one which invented T20! actually IPL was started only after ICL began to function. Indian Cricket League which does not function now due to some problems, many of its players are playing for IPL in this season. The Indian Cricket board was completely against the introduction of T20 and they even said that England may need T20 cricket because it has a huge fan following for football, this statement by the BCCI may look very very funny now!

The Brand value of IPL is estimated to be around 18,000 Crores in the year 2010! no other business venture in the world would have multiplied so much with 3 years of functioning. It is a revolution in world sports. A profit which every CEO would dream of no matter how big his company is

The first official T20 match was played between the English Counties in 2003. The first International T0 was played in the year 2005 between Australia and New Zealand. When India participated in the inaugural T20 Championship World Cup it had not played a single International match before! India won the T20 world cup and things changed for ever in the Cricket World and Cricket India Inc. became bigger than ever before. it was only 2008 that IPL entered the arena. So for all those who feel T20 is spoiling the sport please remember IPL is not the father of T20. though you may blame it for popularizing the format but I will tell you why IPL is not a villain

First of all I cannot convince a guy who is barking against IPL for cheap publicity. "please bark more" cause then moment he begins to list out the reason any one with common sense cannot make out what he needs, so lets not waste time on them for others who sincerely feel that IPL is doing injustice Cricket please understand that this India's Answer to the TOP LEAGUES in the world, now there is some one who represents India in the big shot's very own World Sporting Leagues. In the early 60's and 70's Indian players used to play County Cricket to develop their skills against alien conditions and a chance to horn their skills against the best English bowlers in business, Indian and foreign players are still signed by the English Counties, not only in Cricket, even in Football and Hockey our India players used to repesent a foreign club which gives them a good exposure and off course they make some good income through it! now the same guys who where proud when an Indian was playing in foreign league feels that IPL is a villain. They should understand that NOW we have the muscle and money power to host and International League, foreign players are trying every bit to play in this league, they are enjoying their game and making money which they only dreamed off, in just 45 days of work, in fact in just less than 20 games! the young players playing domestic cricket in India are living their dreams! they are rubbing shoulders with the legends of the game not just from India but from around the world that would do a world of good for the young players who are about to represent India and other youngsters who are representing their respective countries. The old war horses who have bowed out of the International arena are back and of course they are rocking! Shane Warne at 40 years is still a threat to the top batsmen in the league! Anil Kumble seems to have developed some new techniques after retirement only to trouble the batsmen, the Australian selectors would have cursed Gilchrist and Mathew Hayden for retiring from International Cricket, the players who are at the verge of retiring from International Cricket need to worry about missing the game, if they can convince a franchise then their Cricketing career would be extended for ever and ever. IPL is a dream come true for the senior International Cricketers and a great opportunity for youngsters to improve their skills and for the Senior domestic cricketers this is a golden chance for them to prove the world and to the selectors that they had it in them to make it in the big stage! every single cricketer how is picked up for a franchisee are living their dream and they are paid for living their dream! and look at the ever increasing fan base to check out if the the people are loving it or not and ask the franchise owners if the they are'nt making profits. Millions are pouring and roaring into IPL like an avalanche and everybody is enjoying it..now tell me what is wrong and who is crying?
